Baie Éternité sector, Parc national du Saguenay
The uniqueness of the Saguenay Fjord

The Saguenay River Fjord is one of the most exceptional in the world. The soaring cliffs that line its shores recall the passage of Ice Age glaciers several thousand years ago.

The Baie Éternité sector offers a sampling of all the facets of this unique environment, from the fjord’s deeps to the crowning headlands at Cap Trinité and Cap Éternité – all yours to explore.
  • Le Fjord du Saguenay interpretation centre hosts an interactive exhibit on the history of the fjord’s formation and on the marine life in the area. “Fly” over the region aboard a flight simulator and discover the immensity of the landscape.
  • Other ways to learn more about marine life include the in-field interpretation activities organised by park warden-naturalists and a theatrical presentation, Une pêche miraculeuse, starring a friendly fisherman and a water genie.
  • The centre serves as the starting point for the many walking trails featuring interpretive panels, such as the Méandres à falaise trail that overlooks the Baie Éternité valley and delta.
