     Marine Environment Discovery Centre

      The maritime estuary revealed

The brand new Marine Environment Discovery Centre invites you to explore the many faces of the estuary: its raging waters, changing shores, multi-hued floor and the host of life forms that inhabit it. The history of this majestic water course also comes to life through the tales of the people who have lived at its very heart.

Take the opportunity to enjoy a unique activity, Le Saint-Laurent en direct, during which you “dive” along with a cameraman-naturalist to discover the fabulous underwater world of the estuary… while you yourself stay dry as toast!  The diversity and beauty of St. Lawrence flora and fauna appear before you, just as if you were holding the camera yourself! You can even communicate with the diver and with other viewers, and help choose the organisms you will be seeing during this expedition of exploration.

The centre has an amphitheatre featuring the St. Lawrence as its backdrop, and also organises daily interpretation activities that allow you to discover various facets of the marine environment and a magnificent shoreline from which a number of marine mammal species can be seen.
