To ensure that all the municipalities and the many partners operating within the coordination area are represented, the Coordinating Committee is composed as follows:
-
one representative from each of the three regional county municipalities affected by the marine park: the MRC Charlevoix-Est, MRC Fjord-du-Saguenay and MRC Haute-Côte-Nord;
-
one representative from the three regional county municipalities on the south shore of the St. Lawrence: the MRC Rivière-du-Loup, MRC Les Basques and MRC Kamouraska;
-
one representative from the Essipit Montagnais First Nations community;
-
one representative from the scientific community;
-
one representative from groups advocating conservation and resource protection, and nature education and interpretation;
-
one representative from Parks Canada Agency; and
-
one representative from Parcs Québec.
Advisory committees
The Coordinating Committee has set up advisory committees that support it and make recommendations regarding actions on the issues for which it is responsible. Four advisory committees assist it in this manner:
-
visitor reception, marketing and signage;
-
infrastructures and facilities;
-
ecosystem management and research; and
-
themes, interpretation and education.
An advisory committee formed of First Nations representatives more specifically assists the Coordinating Committee with all issues affecting these communities. |
