The Rosaire Corbin
     Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park

This award, created to honour Abbot Rosaire Corbin by the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park Coordinating Committee in collaboration with the four relevant tourism associations, has three objectives. It seeks to:

  • recognise and reward the endeavours of an individual or organisation for its exceptional achievements in educating, interpreting or raising awareness about the marine park’s natural or cultural resources;
  • perpetuate the memory of Abbot Rosaire Corbin and the values he conveyed through his work in teaching science to young learners, and
  • foster distinctive effort and excellence in the enhancement of the cultural and natural heritage associated with the marine environment of the Saguenay Fjord and the St. Lawrence Estuary, and in educating the public regarding this heritage.

The Rosaire Corbin Award is presented annually by the marine park at a regional tourism award gala (Galas régionaux des Grands Prix du tourisme québécois), held on a rotational basis in the Charlevoix, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Manicouagan and Lower St. Lawrence regions.
