The Rosaire Corbin Award is awarded on the basis of the following criteria:
- strength of the conservation message conveyed by the project or the achievements of the candidate;
- outreach of the project within the local community and beyond the region;
- significance of the social, environmental or economic spin-offs within the region;
- originality of the means used to carry out the project;
- pertinence of the project with respect to the conservation values conveyed by Abbot Rosaire Corbin: understand, love, protect; and
- pertinence of the project in relation to the mission of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park: improving the degree of conservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage of the Saguenay Fjord and the St. Lawrence Estuary.
